The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Ukraine, Aca Jovanović, on October 22, 2021, visited the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross in the village of Rozumivka, Kirovograd region, at the invitation of Archbishop Bogolep of Alexandria and Svetlovodsk of the Alexandria Diocese of the UPC-Moscow Patriarchate. The Church of the Exaltation of the Cross is a monument of architecture and urban construction of national importance and the tomb of the ancestors of the Rajevski family. Four members of the Rajevski family, who are known as the heroes of the military liberation wars, are buried in the tomb. Colonel Nikolai Nikolayevich Rajevski (1839-1876) died heroically during the Serbian-Turkish war, defending the right of Serbs to a free life from the long-standing Ottoman yoke.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Ukraine, Aca Jovanović, participated with representatives of the Diocese of Alexandrov in a series of activities organized on the occasion of the celebration of the 165th anniversary of the consecration of the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross. The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Ukraine, Aca Jovanović, participated in the liturgy, after which he gave a speech in the presence of Archbishop Bogolep, the clergy of the Diocese of Alexandria and the faithful. The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Ukraine, Aca Jovanović, also visited the tomb of the Rajevski family, which is located on the territory of the temple, and the National Museum of the village of Rozumivka in the Kirovohrad region. At the end of the ceremony, Archbishop Bogolep and Ambassador Aca Jovanović planted birches around the temple. |
